Explorer's LogoWelcome to our Explorers section

Explorer Scouts are young people, usually aged between 14 and 18 years old. They make up the fourth Section of the Scouting family. Binfield Air Explorer Scout Unit is linked with the 1st Binfield Air Scout Group.

The unit meet weekly, where the unit members decide and organise their activities with the support of the adult leaders.

The main awards that are undertaken are the higher Chief Scout’s award’s and Queen Scout award. These are undertaken in parallel to the three in the Duke of Edinburgh Awards Scheme. In order to complete these awards, you will acquire new skills and have the opportunities to experience new activities.

There will be times when you will be busy doing other things such as exams, and being an Explorer Scout will have to fit around these.

As an Explorer Scout, you will get the chance to work with other Explorer Scouts in our District and County, not just our Unit. By doing this, you will get the chance to do many more activities, not just the ones our Unit organises.
